Here at Northland Village Dental Centre, we work hard to prevent dental issues. We believe that preventative care matters more than services for problems such as gum disease at our Calgary clinic. After all, you will feel more comfortable if you never develop problems than if you end up needing treatment. We promote oral care and good dental hygiene to keep your teeth healthy.

Preventive Dental Care
We recommend scheduling an appointment every six months to stay ahead of possible dental problems. At your routine appointment, we’ll examine your teeth and screen for signs of gum disease.
Gum disease is preventable and comes on slowly. However, it can be a nasty disease if not caught early. If you think you have gum disease, our Calgary staff will present treatment options. You'll know you have this condition if you exhibit the following symptoms:
Swollen gums
Teeth grinding or clenching
Bad breath
Bleeding gums (during tooth brushing)
Dry mouth
Gingivitis
All of these irritants may indicate gum disease. With our Calgary staff, you can prevent and even reverse these problems.
Frequently Asked Questions
How often should I take my child to a pediatric dentist?
You can bring your child to our clinic once every six months or when their first tooth emerges.
How can my child get enough fluoride?
Toothpaste is an important source of fluoride as it supplies important nutrients and minerals to your child’s teeth.
I brush and floss regularly, but I still get cavities. What am I doing wrong?
Factors such as genetics and lifestyle choices affect your oral health. Use of tobacco, the type of food you eat and improper brushing techniques can lead to various dental problems, such as plaque or cavity build-up.
Why should I remove my wisdom teeth?
If your wisdom teeth align well and you have a healthy gum tissue, extraction is not needed. But, when your wisdom teeth do not erupt properly and grow sideways or might remain trapped beneath the gum and bone, they should be extracted.
